Switch from 17hats

Leaving 17hats? Bring your studio with you.

Your clients, your booked weddings, the money already paid and the contracts already signed. Here is exactly what comes across, how it gets there, and what stays a PDF.

The 17hats importer is coming soon.

We're building it now, and early-access studios get it first. Until it ships, keep your 17hats account open: you only close it once your data is in The Black Line and you've checked it.

What comes with you
Coming soon

Your clients, your weddings, your money in.

Everything 17hats lets you take out, put back together the way The Black Line works: one client, many bookings.

Clients

Every contact in 17hats' contact export becomes a client, with email, phone, address and notes.

17hats often keeps a couple as two contacts. We suggest joining them into one client; they're joined only if you say so.

Bookings

17hats has no export for projects, so each booking is rebuilt from what does come out: your signed contracts, the payments you received, your Google Calendar.

Every field shows where it came from. Past weddings are marked delivered, future ones with a contract or a payment are confirmed.

Payments

Payments received and amounts still due come from 17hats' accounting reports, attached to the right client and booking.

They count in your revenue and your tax estimate, because that money really arrived. They never create a new invoice.

Signed contracts

Contracts signed in 17hats come in as PDFs, filed on the booking they belong to and visible only to your studio.

The AI reads them to fill in the date, the venue and the fee. The PDF stays the signed original.

Invoices, quotes, questionnaires

Kept as documents, on the client or the booking, so the history is one click away.

They stay PDFs: The Black Line doesn't pretend a 17hats invoice or questionnaire was made here.

How it works
Coming soon

Read first. Then confirm.

Six steps in Settings, Import. You read the whole report before a single record is saved.

  1. 01

Tell us where you're coming from

Pick 17hats, or our own spreadsheet format if you keep your studio in Excel.

  2. 02

    Download your files from 17hats

We list exactly which ones: the contacts CSV, the accounting reports, the contract PDFs. Plain steps, no guessing.

  3. 03

    Upload everything at once

All the files together, or one ZIP. Each file is recognized from its columns.

  4. 04

    Read the report

How many clients, bookings and payments, the duplicates, the choices to make (each with a safe default) and what won't come across, and why. Nothing is written yet.

  5. 05

    Confirm

The import writes exactly the report you read, in batches, and picks up where it left off if something stops it.

  6. 06

    Done

Your studio, with its history. When you're ready, switch on the automations for your upcoming weddings.

Where the AI helps
Coming soon

The AI does the reading. You do the deciding.

17hats gives you contacts and reports, not your weddings. The AI does the reading you would otherwise do by hand, contract by contract.

  • It reads your signed contracts

Names, date, venue, collection and fee, taken from the PDF to rebuild the booking 17hats can't export.

  • It matches unfamiliar columns

A report laid out differently, a column renamed: it proposes where each one goes.

  • It proposes, you decide

Every suggestion is in the report before anything is saved. Without the AI, you can match everything by hand.

Nothing goes out

A quiet move. Your clients won't notice a thing.

  • No emails

No client hears about your move. No welcome emails, no reminders, no surveys.

  • No automations, no invoices

Nothing starts by itself, and payments already invoiced in 17hats stay invoiced there.

  • Only empty fields

A client you already have is never overwritten: the import fills in only what's missing.

  • Run it twice, get it once

Importing the same file again creates nothing new.

  • 30 days to take it back

For a month, you can remove what the import created and you haven't touched since.

What stays behind

What doesn't come across, and why.

Some things 17hats doesn't let out, and some don't belong in a client workspace. Better you hear it here than halfway through.

  • Your emails

They stay in your mailbox, where they already are.

  • Email templates, workflows and forms

17hats doesn't export them. You'll set up your sequences once, and every email still waits for your approval.

  • Questionnaire answers as data

They come across as PDFs, not as fields.

  • Expenses, receipts and time tracking

The Black Line runs your clients and your money in, not your bookkeeping.

  • Marketing consent

17hats doesn't record it, so nothing is assumed. Consent in The Black Line is given by the client, at signing.
